Is there a way of reading this that makes sense?

"I have two grandchildren — Maggie is 11, Robert is 9," Gingrich said at Cornerstone Church. "I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they're my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists...."

I'm pretty sure that's the funniest thing I've ever heard a politician say.

One of his many non-shining moments.

I can't find a way of reading that that makes sense. It seems to require you to believe that radical Islamists are secular atheists.

But...but...I give up. I guess he doesn't actually listen to the words that spill out of his mouth, huh?

Oh my. Radical Islamists are secular atheists. I never knew that! :)
